DPC breeding mix
Year after year, tens of thousands of pigeons are bred at the Descheemaecker Pigeon Center. We have sold more than 2,000,000 pigeons since our founding in 1955, and the never-ending interest in our pigeons proves that the pigeons we supplied and continue to supply are of excellent quality.
Our breeding pigeons have been fed the same breeding mix for decades, which mainly consists of yellow peas and corn. In terms of nutritional value, this mixture contains the proteins needed so that the young pigeons develop and grow up perfectly.
The thousands of visitors who visit the Descheemaecker Pigeon Center each year are often amazed that we breed such well-developed and beautiful young pigeons. DPC moulting mixture
The DPC moulting mix is a balanced mix that was put together based on our decades of experience at the “Natural Breeding Station”. The main component of this moulting mixture is barley, which is supplemented with a number of other grains so that the pigeons go through the moult smoothly.
The pigeons at the Descheemaecker Pigeon Center are proof that a simple mixture put together based on practical experience helps ensure that the moulting process goes optimally and that our pigeons are then ready for breeding.
The mixture also ensures that the pigeons do not become fat, which benefits their fertility. The mixture is also ideal for pigeons sitting alone.
